Risk Management and Scenario Planning

In today’s times, any decision has the potential for massive ramifications.  The correct decision can lead to the farmer having a successful financial year, while the opposite is also true.

In the agricultural sector, the farmer must not only posess effective management and planning skills, but must also consider numerous variables of which he has no control such as climatic conditions.

Farm-IT is in the process of developing a risk management system, which will be of benefit to the farmer, allowing him to play with various scenarios before final decision-making.  The aim of the system is to illustrate to the farmer the long-term effect of any decision taken.  

The system will also benefit various agri-sector role-players on a macro-level by providing tools to test various scenarios against accurate farm data before advice is provided to the farmer.
